Summary
While on patrol near Woodhouse, the squires and their knights discover a wagon and slain occupants, savagely mutilated and partially eaten—so horrific it makes even veteran knights physically ill. Tracks suggest wolves, but the killings feel unnatural. The knights order the squires ahead to Vagon to warn the Castellan of Vagon: “Wolves are about.” En route, they pass Unknown name - Burning Village—engulfed in flames with no people to be found. At Vagon, the castellan puts the settlement on alert and orders the walls manned. The squires rest, awaiting their knights at dawn… but dawn comes, and the knights do not return.
